In early 2012 Chris Keimig & Sam Hopper, a.k.a Gimik & Method, had a vision to create something special, something different from the rest, & something that would turn their wildest dreams into a reality. It didn’t take long for their brainchild Breaking Beats Promotion to be born.

Hailing from Wanaka in the deep south of New Zealand where the population exceeded just a little over 4000, Chris & Sam’s love for bass culture was born after countless drum & bass party’s in & out of Wanaka & endless nights of mixing vinyl on substandard equipment in the back of an old caravan.

In early 2010 the boys decided to take their love to Wellington where their passion for bass music grew exponentially until that itch to build an empire had to be scratched.

Early in 2012 they approached Fast Eddies nightclub owner, Grant Beban, who saw the passion & desire in their eyes, & allowed them to host their first drum & bass event. The night went off with an absolute bang & to this day is proving to be one of the best local nights the club has to offer!

Since then Breaking Beats Promotion have supplied endless epic parties in & out of Wellington, hosting huge names from all around the globe. Their consistency & unrivaled quality has seen the name spread like wildfire, solidifying a firm reputation in the Wellington drum & bass Scene.

Co-Owner Sam Hopper has recently taken Breaking Beats Promotion to Australia, branching out into the Brisbane Drum & Bass scene, & taking the Breaking Beats name international!

2014 is set to be a massive year for Breaking Beats, now based in New Zealand & Australia, with some huge acts confirmed from some of the biggest record labels in the game including Hospital Records, Virus Recordings, Viper Recordings & State of Mind Music.
